Deep sorrow
clutches at her heart Intense loneliness grips her mind mercilessly Dark vast emptiness consumes her soul and pierces her very being blackness despair a slow death of emotion a painful poisoning of the mind a deep untruth embraced by the subconscious and fed by safety and comfort This drawing was inspired by my overwhelming sense of loneliness and emptiness on Christmas day. There were many reasons for these feelings... too many... the only thing keeping me sane and helping me through the dark day was my wonderful husband! If you've never experienced true clinical depression then you can't understand how you can feel so empty and alone even when in the company of someone you love and someone who loves you and shows it every day. A note to all my friends... I do not now suffer from depression... I did years ago before my first divorce but find it very easy to slip back into on occasion. Christmas was a difficult day for many reasons... but I am back to my normal, cheerful self now!   I drew this over the past two days... This was drawn on sketch paper using a .7 mechanical pencil. Another note... the piece of &*#@! scanner that I have does not capture the essence of this piece ...
